5.0 out of 5 stars BERZERK!!, 25 Feb 2002
By nicholas.j.barnes@student.shu.ac.uk (Stoke-On-Trent/Sheffield) - See all my reviews
The Music are the BEST of the "new British guitar bands" coming through at the moment. This EP is the first material released by the band along with the single "Take the long road and walk it". All four tracks are superb, and provide and insight into just how good the Music are live.
Bring on the album!

4.0 out of 5 stars New Music, 8 Nov 2001
By Jim (Cheshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
With the current music scene of average indie bands, American so called "nu metal" and boring dance + R & B tunes to listen to (not to mention the manufactured pop acts), this band are a breath of fresh air. Part of a resurgence of British guitar bands The Music have there own original sound which i would describe as psychadelic rock. After seeing them live in Liverpool supporting another great up and coming young British band, The Coral, it is plain to see that the British music scene has a bright future. This is their first proper release after "Take the long road and walk it" and is almost as good but the b-sides lack a bit of the upbeat energy evident in their first single. However the tiltle track more than makes up for these. I would suggest that any music fan who wants something new to listen to you might as well try this.

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY THE MOST EXCITING BAND AROUND ON THE PLANET !, 8 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Bored from the wave of mind numbing american rock-pop and endless r'n'b, pointless pop bands and rubbish garage music, then this should be taken in LARGE doses. 'The Music' are picking up where The Verve left off. the familiar highly strung-out chords and the dynamic vocal impact from frontman Robert Harvey make this a wecomed return to proper rock music. The face smacking title track holds nothing back, making it an instant unheard classic.
'Karma' is a more blissful sound full of layering and emotion.
'Treat Me Right On' has a more familiar sound to it, something tells me that this will be the best received track of all four, the slow build up leads to a blinding chorus.
last and im afraid least 'Too High' the most mellow song on the E.P that is until the third minute when it all goes nuts, finally clocking in at seven minutes this will leave your head ringing and gagging for more.

BRING ON THE ALBUM GUYS !!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Promising Second Release For Young Leeds Band
To follow their first release must have been quite a task, the shear dynamics of The Walls Get Smaller are amazing. The title track is a very catchy tune. Read more
