Following the critical success of Channel Four's Queer as Folk and the accompanying soundtrack, Russell T Watson, the writer and co-producer of the show, has returned with another controversial drama, this time for ITV1--Bob and Rose. Attempting to mirror the success of their previous partnership, ace hi-energy/pop remixers and producers Almighty have also put together a pumping soundtrack to complement Watson's brilliant new production. In true Almighty fashion, disc one of the release is dedicated primarily to the unaltered pop and dance classics featured in the show, while the second whips up the dance team's recent productions (typically up-tempo covers of recent pop favourites) into a pleasant frothy mix. The "songs CD" also opens and closes with the theme from Bob and Rose, which sound strangely familiar (it adopts the same xylophone style as the theme to Queer As Folk). Apart from "Mama Told Me Not To Come" and "Sweet Dreams", all the other tracks are unashamedly pop-disco inspired tunes ranging from the remix of Kylie's camp "Your Disco Need You" to "Love, Love, Love--Here I Come" from Rollo. The premier tracks on the collection are two original Almighty productions--Natalie Browne's "From Here to Eternity" and Déjà vu featuring Tasmin ("No Rhyme No Reason").
