1.0 out of 5 stars PTTTTTHHHHHHH, 8 April 2005
By chris99 (england) - See all my reviews
This is the worst movie in history. Overused plot and effects.
Shimmery illusion of invisibility? Predator used this well, this didn't. Artifacts awakening an ancient evil? The Mummy!
Dialogue: "Being a 90s woman can really strain your back.."

2.0 out of 5 stars Parson's Egg, 22 Nov 2003
By A Customer
This film is not the utter turkey it so very nearly promises to be. OK, the script is dire (including such classic lines as "rob the corpse yourself!"); the budget is low; and the alien effects are, well, crudarrific. (It's oh-so-conveniently invisible most of the time, which means that you get lots of "alien point of view" shots - i.e., someone wobbling a hand-held camera in some bushes.) But through it all, there are a few semi-redeeming features. The actors battle valiantly with the lacklustre dialogue, and there are two spunky performances from the independent-spirited female expedition guide and the old park ranger (though neither is on screen long enough). There are occasional moments of genuine suspense. And while the dialogue is corny beyond belief, the overall story is fairly original, with a couple of clever, unexpected twists.

All the same, that doesn't make this worth buying. You'd be better off with the genuine scary article like Ring or Alien, or full-on pastiche like Scary Movie. For the most part this film has the shortcomings of both and lacks the qualities of either.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little horror film!, 31 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This is a great little horror film that stars Richard Hatch, Tim Thomerson and Robbie Rist. A team of archeologists head out into the forest to locate an Indian burial ground, but their leader has plans to steal the treasure for himself. Little do they know that a terrifying creature guards the treasure and won't let them leave the forest alive. This is a very exciting and fun little horror film and I highly recommend it!
