A real change of direction for Paul, singing classic pop and soul songs written by others. Often a cover version does not do the original justice - this time the reverse is true! Although many of the songs featured have been cut many times over - for example "Any Day Now" (Elvis and Percy Sledge), "Crazy Love" (Maxi Priest) and "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" (Mardi Gras and Marvin Gaye), Paul's soulful vocals make them sound like new. If you like the soul sound of Carrack and the cool sax-break pop that is Motown you'll love this. Roll on Groovin' Volume 2.....

I cannot praise this album enough, this is a real must for anyone who wants to hear classic pop songs being sung by a class vocalist. Listen to Anyday Now (and play it everyday). Well done Paul just keep singing and we will just keep listening. A true class album.

I love it! Well done Paul, this is a great series of cover versions of some of the classics! Should I ever have sex again, I guarantee this will be playing in the background! Paul's version of 'Any Day Now' (which was the reason I bought the CD) is just so incredibly soulful, I have to stop wherever I am and cry. Love it, love it, love it! Actually the first track 'Harvest for the world' is a bit naff, but I love the rest!
