The historic recording restorer Mar Obert-Thorn has done a wonderful job to remaster these dazzling recordings of Kapell's war horse, Prokofiev 3rd & Khachaturian's Piano Concerto, with less background noise & more focus.

Kapell's another recording of Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto with Stokowski surpasses this Dorati Version in intensity & speed of the 1st movement, but this is still unsurpassed by any other pianists.
