I can highly recommend this disc to anyone exploring chamber music. 2 huge composers with one serious string quartet to their name. Both quartets are have beautiful flowing peices and rythmical folk dance parts, paving the way for composers such as bartok. I discovered these peices from this cd and Im still to hear better performances (and ive heard a few honest!) together with the janacek quartets they denote a great period in chamber music leading up towards the end of the romantic period before the great, but atonal schoenberg.
