If you haven't already got a Dreamcast then this is a fantastic place to start - console, controller, VMU (memory unit) and 3 games. The main difference with this pack is that the games aren't "old nonsense" as with so many packs. I've had more fun in a week with my Dreamcast than I've had all year with my PS2 (and I am - or used to be - a die hard PS fan !!).

First you get Metropolis Street Racer (MSR). This _is_ the best driving game I have come across - yes, even better than the mighty GT3 on PS2 (which is technically fantastic, but feels so slow with painfully un-realistic crashes). Instead MSR is a fantastic hybrid of realistic settings and cars but with a slightly arcadey feel - and an amazing variety of stages. Oh and great GFX !!

Then you get Jet Set Radio. What can I say - having been in "Sony-land" for the past few years I had completely missed out on this. This game is a strange cell-animated roller-skating graffiti game !! Sounds odd (and takes a while to get used to) but this is perhaps one of the best games I have played on any console/PC - amazingly playable (particularly if you're into surf/skate style games) and stunning graphics.

Finally, the only let down - Virtua Fighter 3tb. A distinctly poor fighting games (not even up to Tekken 3 on the PS1 - graphically or playability-wise). Oh well...

Now with a copy of House of the Dead 2 for a tenner and a light-gun en-route I'll have a fantastic set of varied games for less than the cost of three full-price PS2 titles. Nice :)

Although the Dreamcast is in the twilight of it's life, I would still recommend anyone to go and purchase it, as the list of fabulous games is just enormous! For fighting games there is Soul Calibur (the greatest of all the Dreamcast games) and Dead or Alive 2. For driving there is Metroplis Street Racer and Crazy Taxi 1 . For platforms/adventure there is Rayman 2 and Sonic Adventure 2. For shooting there is House of the Dead 2 and Quake Arena 2 (online). For the unusual there is Jet Set Radio and Space Channel 5. Not to mention online titles such as Chu Chu Rocket and the magnificent Phantasy Star Online, which I am currently playing. Then there's still Shenmue 2 and Virtua Tennis 2, which are out on sale around about now! So just go and buy a Dreamcast.... today!!!!!

Don't be fooled by all the media hype, the Xbox and PS2 may be the up and coming consoles, but if its value for money for top quality games that you are looking for you can not go wrong with the DC. At ... half the price of a PS2 and with 2 top quality games in jet set radio and MSR you have a bargain. Virtual fighter 3tb is not that good, so just fork out ... for the superior soul caliber ... you then go and buy the awesome resident evil: Code Veronica plus still have change for a pint.
By the time you have finished playing all the top DC titles such as shenmue 2, crazy taxi 2, Headhunter, NBA 2k2. The PS2 will have been replaced by the PS3 and the Xbox will be replaced by the Zbox...
