Give your child a head start with Noddy and his Toyland friends with the Noddy - Let's Get Ready For School CD-ROM which allows your child to learn through play. With three skill levels it caters for the range of abilities amongst three to six year olds.

Trouble in Toyland featuring naughty Sly and Gobbo. A Cold Day in Toyland - can Noddy help Big Ears with his shopping bag? A Hot Day in Toyland - Noddy decides to buy some ice-cream for Bumpy Dog. Master Tubby Bear's Birthday - the party cannot begin until he's done his homework. A Stormy Day in Toyland - a storm has ripped through Toyland and left everything in chaos, can Noddy put Toyland together again?

As you accompany Noddy on his adventures you can help him earn some money by completing ten activities along the way. Whether it's catching chickens, dancing, sledging, playing musical icicles, collecting letters from the naughty bugs, making ice-cream, re-doing the bills, there is plenty of fun to be had in Toyland.

When you've helped Noddy earn some money by completing at least one activity you can try your luck at the fair; throw custard pies, knock over the skittles or swing the mallet and make the bell ring. But if you run out of money you will have to help Noddy earn some more. There is also a Report Card which allows you to track progress and set appropriate levels of difficulty.

I was a bit disappointed with this. My son loves Noddy and the rest of the characters but didn't find it easy to move around the activities. Some are very repetitive and some require more skill than can be expected of a youngster (eg aiming custard pies at moving targets). I also found the background music very irritating but if you turn down the music you can't hear the instructions! We both enjoy building ice cream machines and going sledging, but "posting" the correct shaped pieces of brick and catching coloured hens are a bit boring for a 4.5 year old.

Had I taken heed of the other reviews posted about this CD I probably wouldn't have bought it, but given it had won an award I decided to go with instinct. I am glad I did.

My three year old, who is nuts about Noddy, and five year old love it. We went through the accompanying instructions leaflet about the object of each game when we first played and found it quite straightforward. Big Ears is always available to prompt.

Obviously my three year old needs help still with the games as she hasn't completely mastered mouse control, but with the help of her sister she plays quite happily. Their favourite game is the sledging game.

The music we also found inoffensive and completely in keeping with Noddy...

Poor explanations and very irritating music. The on-line help from Big Ears wasn't much help and my 4 year old tended to be navigating around and just clicking on everything to try and keep up his interest!!

On the game where Sly and Gobbo are invisible the skill level for 'washing' the bad goblins to make them reappear was very hard - far above the ability of most pre-school children.

Although my little boy loves Noddy, sadly, this is not a CD I would personally recommend.
