...this album will lift you up into the sky when you're in a bad mood..., 13 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Some outstanding songs on the album would have to be 'Longview', a sarcastic look at the life of REAL people (lol that's the only way I can describe it!); 'Minority', a classic Green Day song which will always be chanted at one in the morning after parties by me and my mates; 'Good Riddance', a touching ballad that is complemented brilliantly by Billie Joe's unique voice and gentle guitar-playing, (it has reduced me to tears in some less sober moments!); 'Warning', a nice, bold look at how authority protects us... actually no, it's just a long list of warnings... buy the album and listen to it if you really wanna know!!! The last track of the album brings you down brilliantly - the amazingly moving Macy's Day Parade. Again, Billie Joe's lovely voice reaches all the peaks and troughs of this nice, long ballad about - well, you have to listen to it, I sing along all the time but I haven't worked out exactly what it's about yet! It's such a LOVELY song though! But, if it's hardcore Green Day punk that you're looking for, BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!! I can go on about the 'lovely songs' but an album full of them would get boring, and it is the good old upbeat, throw-yourself-around-the-room type of punk-pop that Green Day do best that brings this album to life, which is evident in songs such as 'Longview', 'She', 'JAR', 'Poprocks and Coke'... I could go on but I'm only allowed 1000 words! To sum it up, this album will lift you up into the sky when you're in a bad mood, vent your frustration when angry, and give you a reason to bounce around when you're feeling hyper! BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!! Just go! Now! Get out the credit card and... BUY IT!
