Product Description
Description
AQUARIA is a sleek trance album, and each track serves as avehicle for Diane Arkenstone's sultry soprano voice. She alternately uses whispery spoken-word vocals or distant, Celtic-influenced singing to propel each song. The eerie "Tranceshift" is a good example of the latter. On this piece, Arkenstone's reverb-drenched vocals dance over programmed keyboardarpeggios and other breathy sound effects. The opening tune, "World of Light", uses nature imagery to create a dreamy picture of water and the sea, while the title track (which serves as the album's coda) uses a playful shakuhachi sound toclose out the record. Most of AQUARIA is contemplative and sensual, with Arkenstone's appealingly whispery tone floating over pulsating dance rhythms.
