5.0 out of 5 stars Genius..., 19 July 2003
Stella Street was one of the greatest comedy creations of all time, although inexplicably it wasn't a huge success. The programme revolves around a seemingly ordinary suburban street populated by stars such as Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Marlon Brando ("Marlon does a lot of beans") and Joe Pesci where Michael Cain is our guide. All of the characters are played by the same two actors.
In this series Mick Jagger and Keith Richards go on tour leaving David Bowie in charge of their corner shop whilst Michael Cain takes the others on a trip to the sea-side for Mrs Hugget (their cleaner) to relive her glory days. ("I know you're all frazzled what with the long journey and the harpoon murder.")
Highlights include seeing Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino watching Eastenders...
Pacino: I've been trying to get Coppola to buy the rights for Eastenders for years.
