From the Back Cover
The Royal International Air Tattoo is simply the best air show in the world. It's 30th anniversary drew record crowds to RAF Cottesmore on the hottest weekend of the year. This extended video records all the highlights as filmed for ITV and includes displays by many aircraft rarely seen in Britain.
Centre stage are America's B-2 stealth bomber and F-117 stealth fighter. Other 'heavy metal' jets include the F-15, F-16, MiG-21, MiG-29, Gripen, Tornado, Jaguar and Harrier. There's a tribute to the Hawker Hunter on it's 50th birthday, a close-up look at how to operate an airship, a special feature on women in aviation, plus action from five national display teams including Britain's Red Arrows. There's also footage from a hectic training exercise with the Royal Navy showing how some of the aircraft in the show perform their day to day tasks. Seldom do the world's top display pilots get a chance to perform in such perfect flying conditions - all brilliant captured in the closest detail by more than a dozen cameras on the ground and in the air.
