In the third film in the 'Chucky' series, the Play Pals Toy Company decide to resume the manufacture of their previously problematic line of Good Guy dolls. This gives the evil Chucky the chance to return one more time and attempt to win his revenge on his old enemy Andy Barclay. However, Andy is now in military school, and has learnt a few new tricks to aid him in his battle against the killer doll.

‘Child’s Play 3’ is one of those films you either love or hate (assuming you liked the first two, anyway). It continues the tale of the killer doll (‘Chucky’) who’s possessed by the soul of a serial killer blah, blah, blah and is still hunting down the only person who he can transfer his soul into. However, his ‘soul’s desire’ is no longer a young boy, but a teenager at military school. This basically gives the film its setting for the next ninety minutes.

No, Part 3 is not really as good as parts 1 and 2. Even the writer admits to feeling ‘rushed’ into doing as sequel so quick off the back of part 2. However, it’s not as bad as it could be. There’s nothing amazingly original here – Chucky kills, no one believes that the doll’s real until it’s too late and so on. Like Part 2, everyone who’s in any way nasty (mainly adults) meet a sticky end, leaving you to almost feel that Chucky is doing the world a favour by getting rid of them.

But there are some nice set pieces among the obligatory ‘teen romance’ sub plot, so, like I said, if you liked the first two, you’ll probably enjoy this one – just don’t raise your hopes too high.

Also, it’s worth noting that Part 3 is the last Child’s Play/Chucky film to ‘play it straight.’ After this one, the franchise took a ‘less serious’ tone. If you continue to watch the films that follow, expect more black comedy instead of chills.

Surprisingly this was a very entertaining third installment of the Child's Play franchise and probably the best movie. The plot is clever in that it moves us forward to when Andy is now a teenager and he is attending military school. Andy doesn't just have a killer doll to contend with but the army majors who are there to see he gets hell and discipline. We really didn't need a third movie straight with a killer doll and a little kid. The best thing about this movie though is how funny and cynical Chucky is, his lines of dialogue are perfect. There's quite a bit of gore to keep fans happy and the movie never seems to drag. It's been written well enough for this sort of film, however some lines are just plain stupid. Witness two characters in the woods, one hears a noise and the other says, "It's probably just a chipmunk or something", one can only guess that the actors were holding in their laughter on this one. This is a fun movie, slightly better than Part 2 which was let down by the acting of Jenny Agutter and Gerrit Graham, and more involving than the original film. However the original obviously had more of a tension and atmosphere throughout it.

If u are not a child's play fan then u may find this movie funny and kinda boring at times but if u are a real die hard fan U WILL LOVE IT.
True, that child's play 1 and 2 are considered the better movies BUT there are reasons why i support the third installment.
First of all this was supposed to be the last in the series and we all wanted to know how chucky should die this time.
The ending climax in the carnival was great and the movie was intense while we were in the militairy school.
There were some unforgettable scenes like when andy while was practicing with guns in an excercize he saw from a distance an officer carrying a doll in his hand.
andy's face was frozen with fear and a slowmotion followed wich was really ALL THE MONEY.
Another great scene is when chucky messed up the guns putting real bullets instead of fake ones and the slaughter begun....
All in all this was an intense movie which concluded the trilogy in a great way and for almost a decade chucky was put to rest.
I love all (but seed) chucky movies but part 3 is always hold a special meaning in my heart.

the film was made 9 months after the second man and producer don mancini has gone on record saying that he ran out of ideas after the second movie and while that may sound horrific in itself this is still entertaining and funny despite courting controversy after its release for reasons that we wont get into here.

childs play 3 is set 8 years after the second part and chuckys enemy andy has enrolled himself in military school, chucky the doll comes back to life and someone manages to place himself in a box and post it to andy, strange how he could have done that, and upon arrival is intercepted by a little boy who likes the doll but of course doesnt realise that the doll contains a human serial killer.

There isnt a lot of gore here but there are great one liners from chucky who is as evil as they come, not the best in the series is usually the cry from fans and i agree but this is nonetheless entertaining.

This movie is a massive improvement from the Boring child's Play 2, This time Andy is a teenager who has been enrolled in a military school. Mean while Play Pals Toy Company decides to re-release its Good Guys line, feeling that after all this time, the bad publicity has died down. As they re-used old materials, the spirit of Charles Lee Ray once again comes to life. In his search for Andy, This time chucky falls into the wrong hands, Ronald Tyler is who stole the package from Andy has he wanted a good guy doll as well, Chucky has new body to transfer his Soul into.

Soon Andy meet chucky again and find out what he upto and try to stop him. This movie filled with nice gory deaths scene, the best death scene in whole series and the acting from everyone was great., This is my favourite Child's Play movie and it action packed until the end. Great movie 8/10
