Don't F*ck with the Chuck!, 6 Jul 2004
This film may be the weakest of the series, but it's still great! Andy Barclay is all growed up now (well 16) and has been sent to Military school. He's still haunted by his past, namely his 'Good Guy' doll Chucky.Though Chucky can now swap bodies with someone new, this is a retread sequel. But none the less is good fun, mainly because of Chucky's mannerisms and one-liners. Taking place at a Military school and a ghost-train type fairground ride, this film has a gothic feel to it. Not a lot of gore but then that's not what this series is about, but Chucky himself takes quite a kicking! Kevin Yagher who usually oversees the puppet work, doesn't do it directly this time, and the film does suffer slightly because of this. I don't really understand the criticism of this film. Yes it's the weakest of the series but if you think of the 'Elm Street', 'Friday The 13th', 'Halloween' and 'Texas Chainsaw' series, they all have some absolute abysmal sequels in there somewhere, whereas this film isn't even bad. All-in-all a fun film, whether you're a Chucky fan or not.
