Absolutely Stunning!, 20 Feb 2003
'Last Night in Town' is an absolute stonker of a CD. Mixing full on metalcore, with a touch of melody, these days, is no new thing, but there is something about ETID that makes them stand out from the pack. Vocals sound (when singing) a lot like Daryl Palumbo of glassjaw, but its the way he can go from the melodic singing to the hardcore scream that really impresses me. Musically, comparisms will be drawn from Poison the Well, Dillinger Escape Plan, From Autumn to Ashes, bands like that, but as i said earlier, there is something about the band that makes them stand out. Track 1, Emergency Broadcast Syndrome, is a disturbing enough intro to the album, but only offers a small sample of what the rest of the album is like. Track 2, Jimmy Tango's Method, is probably my favourite track on the cd, has a mad breakdown pushing the middle of the track, but the LOGIC OF CROCODILES track has one of the meanest breakdowns in hardcore, absolutely stunning.... Definately a cd to own if you like you melodic shouty hardcore kinda thing.....
