5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Stunning!, 20 Feb 2003
'Last Night in Town' is an absolute stonker of a CD.

Mixing full on metalcore, with a touch of melody, these days, is no new thing, but there is something about ETID that makes them stand out from the pack. Vocals sound (when singing) a lot like Daryl Palumbo of glassjaw, but its the way he can go from the melodic singing to the hardcore scream that really impresses me. Musically, comparisms will be drawn from Poison the Well, Dillinger Escape Plan, From Autumn to Ashes, bands like that, but as i said earlier, there is something about the band that makes them stand out.

Track 1, Emergency Broadcast Syndrome, is a disturbing enough intro to the album, but only offers a small sample of what the rest of the album is like. Track 2, Jimmy Tango's Method, is probably my favourite track on the cd, has a mad breakdown pushing the middle of the track, but the LOGIC OF CROCODILES track has one of the meanest breakdowns in hardcore, absolutely stunning....

Definately a cd to own if you like you melodic shouty hardcore kinda thing.....

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS HARD-METAL-EMO-JAZZ-GROOVE-CORE, 13 Nov 2002
This is the groove metalcore sound of converge + glassjaw convoluted and results in a most awe inspiring, chaotic off-kilter riff fest. There is no let up for its entire 35min cycle only with the more reflective emo-jazz moments which then even escalate into riot. The shifting and sudden changing rythm patterns are as unique as converge's 'jane doe' if not more so.
The first time you listen to the cd it just blows by and hits you hard.....give it a few more spins and it just becomes an addiction discovering the sounds.

This is quite simply put: album of the year

5.0 out of 5 stars Perky Hardcore!!!!, 3 Feb 2003
Every time i die's "last night in town" is in my opinion the best hardcore/metal album of last year. I decided to check them out because of a comparisson to the dillanger escape plan meets glassjaw. Im a big glassjaw fan, but every time i die are 10 times more hardocre. They hit you hard but there is SOME melodic singing to go with the ranging screams and excellent changing riffs. This is upbeat hardcore in the way that it never slows down. Excellent lyrics aswell, and cool artwork. I like posion the well,FATA,thursday, hopesfall etc....so if you have a passing intrest in hardcore,,give "last night in town" a listen,,,it wont dissapoint!
