Eroticism tinged with a touch of sadness, 20 Feb 2004
This is a Playboy tie-in with the spreads that Farrah Fawcett did for the magazine in the mid 1990s. As always the Playboy high production values shine through, this is no shoddy exploitation of Farrah. There is the immediate frisson of watching the former "Angel" get naked, there is something rather voyeuristic about watching her move about a studio naked, I remember watching her in the teevee series back in the 70s, full of the joys of being in a prime time show. She was in her mid to late 40s when she made this, and the years of troubles hadn't taken their full toll on her face, the sadness is now in 2004 knowing how she has undergone disasterous facial plastic surgery that has totally changed her face so as to be unrecognisable. She is an accomplished artist, she paints and sculpts, a talented actress, both on stage and screen, and she has a fabulous body, lean and toned, she is an intelligent woman, and in this DVD she shows that she has no qualms about revealing herself both emotionally and physically. It is not something I was aroused by, it is just too sad knowing of all her troubles now to watch her, I wonder what her motives were in deciding to show herself naked to the "world". This former "High School Sweetheart", voted most popular girl, who went on to be an acclaimed stage actress, a somewhat less acclaimed movie actress (bad movies, not bad performances), made some bad choices of partners, some bad choices of movies to be in, and maybe a bad choice to reveal "all"?
