This DVD is in two parts and both are very poor documentaries of the subject matter, the clips in the Stuka section are reused to the point of boredom and the the scenes actually showing the Spitfire are so few you wonder that the word is used in the title.

So disappointing that I do not intend to purchase any other DVD/Videos from the same set.

This is one of the few DVD's that I have regretted buying. I agree with the comments of previous reviewer, this is a poor attempt at documenting two aircraft that have a wealth of available material.

In the Stuka section, I gave up counting how many times you see the same footage of a Stuka entering a dive. If that doesn't drive you mad, you get to see that clip again in the Spitfire section. That holds true for most air footage. Any clip worth showing is worth showing twenty times apparently. They slip in shots of Bf109's being serviced, expecting you to take them for Stuka's and they seem to think Ju-52's are bombers.

They apparently don't know what a Spitfire is. My favorite part was being shown rocket-armed Hawker Typhoons patrolling during the Battle Of Britain. In fact Hurricanes and Typhoons are repeatedly tossed in as Spitfires, as is some sort of Russian twin seater. In fact there is a lot of inappropriate footage cobbled together pretending to be relevent and sequential.

The DVD constantly strays from the subject matter implied in the title. It is not really about these aircraft, in any technical sense, really a poor man's World War II documentary. The interviews with veteran pilots, from both sides, was the only part of real interest. It is unfortunate that the precious reflections of these gentlemen are wasted in such a weak production effort.
