1.0 out of 5 stars Oh what a nasty trick played on me!, 4 Nov 2001
By A Customer
I bought this out of sheer curiosity as I eargerly await Pro evolution socceron the PS2. I had seen on a games site that this is the best footy game to hit the DC. It is the worsed! The other footy games are not good but some scrape up to average, this is appalling. I looked in the book on the way home and the menu screens seemed remanisant of ISSDeluxe so I thought okay that is a decent enough footy game but when I got to the actual game the way it played made me want to set fire to my Dreamcast, it was awful, how I sat through a whole match I will never know but there I was as my beloved Aston Villa or should I say the Villa of last bloody season! The graphics are the standard of an average psone game and the animation is atrocious, player AI? nowhere to be seen. This is basically from a presentation and music point of view a new version of Iss deluxe just without the gameplay. The DC shows its completly dead and buried if it releases cack like this. None of the football games are playable so if you must I suggest Virtua striker as at least it has outstanding animation and graphics and the ability to score a great goal. Leave 90 minutes on the shelf, although if you see no witnesses push it off and stamp on it repeatedly, please!

4.0 out of 5 stars 90 Minutes Review, 6 Sep 2001
By A Customer
90 Minutes is probably the best football game to hit the dreamcast production line yet. With a whole range of different teams from international sides to Premiership teams and to the French and Italian leagues etc. The good thing about this game is that it has the players real names instead of edited names like England striker M.Owenn! This makes the gameplay more real. This game is more of a complete game unlike Virtua Striker as it allows you to take your team through a season instead of just concentrating on the arcade mode, and like many other football games you can design your own tournament to enter your squad into. The tactical side of the game is great, you can select different formations and decide who takes the free kicks and penalties etc. For a football fan dreamcast owner this is the best football game you can get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deceptively good!!!, 22 Jul 2002
By A Customer
Having read the above reviews you've probably already decided that this game is not worth a look. That's exactly how I felt when I first played it. It felt slow, hard to control and the graphics are not as good as many other football games. HOWEVER, after playing it for a few weeks I can safely say that this is one of the best football games I've ever played!

Once you discover that the game can be sped up, it suddenly becomes extremely playable. More importantly, the amount of options are incredible - you can formulate your team's strategy as precisely as Sven Goran with a fine tooth comb. To top it off, the game has almost every team you'll ever need, most with up-to-date teams...and even better, each team starts with the strategy used by the real-life team and each player is rated on about 20 different traits. The amount of work that went into this game is incredible!

If you don't believe me, buy it and play it for a while. Its best in 2 player mode in my experience, but I haven't really tried 1 player that much. Give it a go and you'll be suprised!
