Star Trek: Starfleet Command offers you the starring role as a captain in any one of six star empires. You start out with command of a frigate, then take on missions, such as Convoy Escort and Courier. Depending on your success with the missions, you gain prestige. With prestige comes rank, larger ships, multiple ships, and more experienced officers.

In this game you get to play as The Federation, The Klingons, The Romulans, The Gorn Empire and 1 or 2 more civilizations, using there frigates to battleships you can wage war as any of them.

This game has really good 3D battles, with you being able to reinforce shields, beam over boarding partys and control every inch of your ship as you fight in over 100 missions, you'll play this game over and over again... YOU CAN'T GO WRONG if you like Star Trek at all, or evn just like space battles then you'll love this, I promise.

i was maddened by this untill i realised that a/ i could purchase and control more than one ship--and b/ i could move about the territory from the main map--each territory giving different missions and difficulty level--and c/ the territory and there fore the campaign was dynamic--if you are at war with one species - moving to the border throws you into the front-line
(or stay safe and take different policing domestic missions-)
if you join the war fleet and win that expands your territory allowing you to progress further into enemy space--you see the interest in this of course--
from there on in it just becomes hugely satisfying-
old school dynamic game-ing -good graphics- works well on windows XP (by-pass the install routine and explore the CD click on set up--it installs and runs fine)

best space war campaign i've tried-(for the above reasons)-and replayable as often as you like--

games like this are a dying breed--because it actually IS a GAME--not a glorified semi interactive movie--

This game is a good space combat game, but it ran very slow on my computer (700mhz) and often crashed which meant I soon stopped playing it. You start with a weak ship with which you have to complete relativly simple missions to gain respesct in your empire and with it better ships and the chance to take on harder missions. Your ships can be damaged in combat and you can fight with allies. The A.I is good which can make for a good fight when the sides are well matched. If you are willing to put up with the bugs I suffered then this is a good game. It may just be that the game doesn't like my computer, I don't know.
