The Catalina was a popular allied plane in the second world war, and helped win it as much as any other single type. The secret was in being able to fly an very long way and land on water OR land. This is not fully simulated in this add on product, so the fun can only be in loving the plane.

If you flew it then I guess that the flight dynamics are true, and because this is a large and heavy plane there are few thrills beyond being a good pilot and not crahing. You need to diable the crash detector in FS 2000 anyway to land on water so that makes thing stoo easy. Landing on the ground is not too hard as this was a nice plane to fly overall.

So you get a nice panel, which differs not a jot for each rendered version, and you can fly endlessly over the sea which holds no interest unless you see a submarine in FS2000 which you probably won't! You could try loading it into CFS2 and do something with the guns and bombs (depth Charges?). It's an okay plane, but this is not the only add-on with a Catalina included, so your probably better off with a more diverse package (albeit with out the lovely control panel).
