This is a great Tennis Game, 8 Aug 2002
I have to say I love this game. The graphics are pretty good, but don't compare to Virtua Tennis or Smash Court Tennis BUT it is the gameplay and World Tour that are the standout features and more than make up for anything else.The gameplay is the most realistic of any tennis game I have played (and I have many of them). It does take time to develop your skills and get used to all the shots you can hit, but it is worth spending time on improving. The great thing about this game is that not only can you hit winners with well placed drives, volleys, drop shots, lobs etc but you can also make errors - hitting wide, long, into the net etc. There are even let cords. In doubles, you can even hit your own partner in the back if you don't aim carefully! This is definately the most realistic game out there. If you like playing against friends in singles and doubles then this is a great game. But if you like playing on your own, against the computer, this game is brilliant! The World Tour is so deep and is a pretty accurate reflection of the real Womens Tennis circuit. You create a player to go on the circuit and she starts out ranked #100 and with relatively weak skills. It takes a while before you can win your first game, let alone a match. But once you work out how to play and start winning, your ranking and player skills increase. Slowly but surely you can start winning more matches and entering higher ranked tournaments, eventually progressing to the Grand Slams and working towards making it to #1 ranked in the world. As I mentioned, I have many tennis games such as Virtua Tennis, Virtua Tennis 2K2, Slam Tennis, Smash Court Tennis, Centre Court Hard Hitter, Next Generation Tennis. But WTA Tennis is THE BEST of the lot. If you like tennis, and you like computer games, do yourself a favour and BUY THIS ONE
