Second track to be taken from this year's "Exciter" album.
This single is amazing!, "I feel Loved" oozes rawness and the urgency to be listened to, whatever you are doing the opening bars make you sit up and take notice.
"I Feel Loved" has been heavily pugged as a dance anthem in Ibiza and even appearing on a dance compilation here in the UK, not a bad feat from 3 boys from Basigstoke.
From the momemnt you here the opening beat you know that this is going to be something special. Gahan's vocal are there, they are wrapping around you like a snake and it is very hard not to be drawn into this song, Gahan has the edge previous single "Dream On" lacked, you can hear the raw emotion in his voice and the power not to be screaming the lyrics at the listener this leads to a superb vocal performance.
Combine this with the marvellous writings of Martin Gore, his lyrics are beyond superb in this song. The music that has been composed for this song goes hand in hand with Gore's dark imagery, the lyrics mention darkness a lot thoughout the song, but it is not so much that you begin to loose interest. For example: "As the darkness closes in, In my head I hear whispering". You can just imagine it!
Indeed this song is dark, but you couldn't have it any other way.
This is one belter of a song from Depeche Mode, every note, from begining to end has you hooked.
This is one one those magical moments in musisc when you know you just have to get more of this band.
Excellent.
