Well done, but not everyone will like it, 2 Aug 2001
The Wheel of Time soundtrack is a really nice CD. It consists of mostly instrumental tunes, but there are also a few very nice vocal tracks. One of those tracks, "Ladies of the Tower", is my personal favorite. It is sung by a lady with a beatiful warm voice, and I think the words express very well what it means to be Aes Sedai. I do some roleplaying occasionally, and when I play an Aes Sedai, that is exactly what it feels like. I don't think everyone will like this CD though. It has a certain "celtic" or "new age" feel to it, or whatever you'd like to call it. People who are to down-to-earth to like that won't like this CD. For fans of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, I think this is a must-have. Not only because it's WoT, but also because the most exiting moments of the books, like Rand's return to Emond's Field, hunted by Trollocs, have been put to music very well. When playing the CD while reading the matching passage in the book, you'll feel as if you're there!!!
