Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

As with the first half of the second season of Angel, the second part moves further into the darkness with only touches of humour relieving the bracing depression. Angel's despairing rage at his failure to save his former love Darla from being turned vampire again dominates the first few episodes here; brilliantly performed by David Boreanaz, our brooding vampire with a soul deprives himself of the human contacts which keep him sane and goes into some dark places both in his soul and the gloomy LA he inhabits. Meanwhile, his former comrades continue to fight the good fight against evil even though their only super-power is Cordelia's progressively more painful visions, coping with families of corrupt magicians, fire-breathing demons and zombie cops, but living on borrowed time. In an episode that lets Charisma Carpenter rediscover her comic roots, Cordelia finds herself settling accounts with her former friend the vampire Harmony; the evil lawyer Lindsay discovers the limits to his corruption and a sort of redemption. And in a four-part finale, the group's friendship with the green karaoke demon Lorne sends them off to his home dimension to rescue Cordelia, right wrongs and acquire an important new character... --Roz Kaveney

5.0 out of 5 stars best box set ever, 15 Sep 2001
By R. Evans (Dolgellau, Gwynedd United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Angel season two box set two is fantastic. The whole of the series has been fab and I can't wait for season three! Cordelia and Angel really do shine in this box set and the host is really hilarious even though he's chicken. The last three episodes are the funniest and the 'cliffhanger' at the end is really cruel. I don't believe it! Three of us were watching and we all chorused 'No Way!' Roll on season three.

5.0 out of 5 stars An out-of-this-world finale, 23 Mar 2002
By A Customer
The high-points of this second season of "Angel" have been: The Host, whatever he says or does is just brilliant; the relationship between Angel and Cordelia, from solid friendship and love to cold, hard animosity and back again and, the continually growing respect and friendship between Angel and Wesley. I didn't like the way the team dissolved so quickly but I did like the fact that they didn't stay parted for long. The four-part finale exploring The Host's world and introducing soon-to-be new regular Fred was a bold and exciting step away from the usual format, and I think it worked very well.
My favourite episodes from Season Two were: Judgement, First Impressions, Untouched, Dear Boy, Darla, Reunion, Redefinition, Happy Anniversary, Epiphany, Dead End and the four-part season finale - Belonging, Over the Rainbow, Through the Looking Glass and There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb.

Angel is stonger and better than ever in this second series (not that he wasn't excellent before). We still have the good old Wesley and Cordellia. Read more
