1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid like the plague, 3 April 2002
By A Customer
If you want to see a good French film, this is certainly not a candidate. I sat through this in the cinema hoping that eventually the point would emerge. Unfortunately there is very little plot and really no moral to the story either, and certainly no original ideas. It's all a wishy-washy second-hand French melange of--yes--sentimental nonsense. I am not one to dismiss French cinema as arty-farty and empty, but this film is a very pale reflection of what French film-makers are capable of. This certainly does nothing to bring out the best in Emmanuelle Beart: if you want to see her, watch Un Coeur en hiver.
