The music of the living folk legend John Martyn is highlighted in this recording in London at the Camden Palace Theatre in 1984. The Scottish born singer-songwriter/guitarist began his innovative and expansive career over 30 years ago and has since worked with Phil Collins, Lee Scratch Perry, Dave Gilmore of Pink Floyd, and Steve Winwood along with many others on various albums. John Martyn remains an important and influential figure in both British folk and rock and he transcends the boundaries of conventional singer-songwriting and developed groundbreaking styles over various different genres of music.

got this dvd as live in concert....why are people complaining about the sound? on 5.1 it's really good..with john in top vocal form..great controlled guitar and great keyboards and percussion... i dont wnat to know about evil and one world confirm the genius of the man...this is the most unsung genius in britsish music of the last thirty/forty years and despite his eccentricitites rates with the greatest british artists/performers writers the uk has ever produced..so little known...

Now look; I'm one of JM's biggest fans! The greatest and most unsung hero of real music. Seen him live twice (yes, only twice). Bought everything from Grace & Danger through The Apprentice to Church with One Bell and Glasgow Walker and even back to some of the old stuff like One World and the Anthology. The man is a genius. New DVD of the great man. Wonderful I thought. Pre-order a copy I thought. Get Amazon to courier it to France I thought. My wife called me in the office today to say that it had arrived. Great I thought. Sneak off a little early I thought. Got home and unwrapped it. I've been had I thought! Despite the picture on the front of a conteporary John Martyn, this is a 1984 recording and not a very good one at that. In fact, sorry John and all those who actually like the song 'John Wayne' which I don't, it's "pants". I've been had. No two ways about it. Misrepresented and a complete waste of money and time. John; still love ya but oh this makes me angry!

There are so few videos/dvds available by this wonderful man - grab any copies whilst you can. My husband & I, both avid JM fans, love this dvd. Pure class and style...as always.
