3.0 out of 5 stars Great Acoustic Tracks, 11 May 2002
By a_boardley@hotmail.com (Suffolk, England) - See all my reviews
What seems to have not been reported is that the first 4 CD Singles from Just Enough Education to Peform have an Acoustic CD2. That is, instead of studio tracks for A-Sides and B-Sides, recordings were taken from Kelly Jones' (Stereophonics frontman) acoustic tour. Step on my old Size Nines initially seems quite a good track, but it soon gets a bit tedious. However, it is delivered far more powerfully acoustically. The acoustic b-sides are Just looking, a brilliant track with a great acoustic performance, and Everyday i think of money, one of the weaker tracks off of Just Enough Education To Perfrom (Stereophonics' 3rd album, from which step on my old size nines was taken). All these tracks are performed live and acoustically. This Cd also contains the a video from a live everyday i think of money acoustic performance. I have all the CD2s from Just Enough Education to Perform, and they make a great acoustic collection of the best Stereophonics tracks, so even if you're not a fan of the a-sides, theres sure to be a b-side to please you. On the strength of that I would therefore recommend this and other CD2's from the Just Enoguh Education to Perfrom singles

1.0 out of 5 stars maturity or mediocrity?, 22 Sep 2001
By A Customer
A prime example of the new mature songwriting from Mr Kelly Jones.A maudlin, country tinged acoustic workout, utterly devoid of excitement and originality.Jones' vocal style, which is perfect for the bands more rockier material, sounds here like a third rate Rod Stewart impersonator,in fact this could be a Rod b side from his 70s days. All in all its a pretty bland safe song to release compared to some of the tracks which didn't make singles from the JEEP album

3.0 out of 5 stars Good song, but not really a great single., 15 Nov 2001
Anyone who owns JEEP will agree that it contains some very good songs(Watch them fly sundays is fantastic!) and although I liked this song when I listened to it on the album, I didn't think it would be one of the songs released. It is pleasant to listen to but doesn't have the passion of previous songs like Just Looking, Pick a Part That's New and Local Boy in The Photograph. Think of 'Hurry up and wait' or Traffic and you have a similar sound as this song. It is a very good acoustic song though, and I love playing it on my guitar!
