Espen Sommer Eide has created a new musical world. Not songs, as most people would recognize them, more soundscapes; collages of aural colour. Starting with a rumble, opener Lavenderloops soon comes to bubbling, chattering life. Gene Manipulation, the closest he gets to a title track, simultaneously conjures a dawn chorus, the chatter of day and the echoes of night. Fertilizer, perhaps ironically, appears the most mechanical; winking, blinking, rotating, it shuffles and bubbles along. Elsewhere there are gentle voices and rythmns and shimmering, glistening slides of sound. It ends with strange haunting voices, barely more than a whisper, dissappearing into interference and endless waves of sound. Venture along, you wont be dissappointed.
