Brother's MFC-840 Multi-function Center has everything you need to set up your home office in one package. It combines phone, colour fax, colour printer, colour copier, colour scanner and photocapture centre, all in a single unit. As a fax machine, it provides real-time colour faxing, a fast 14.4-Kbps modem, 20-sheet document feeder, up to 200-page receive or transmit memory and 108 speed-dial stations. As a colour printer, you get up to 1200x1200 dpi colour printing. Speed is up to 12 ppm mono and up to 10 ppm colour (in draft mode) plus 100-sheet paper supply feed. As a colour copier, it provides up to 8 ppm mono / 5 ppm colour copying plus up to 1200x1200 dpi colour resolution. You can also do 25-400 per cent reduction / enlargement in 1 per cent increments. As a colour scanner you get up to 2400 dpi colour resolution (interpolated), 30-bit colour depth, TWAIN interface, scan to e-mail / OCR facility. The Photocapture Centre enables you to print directly from Smartmedia/Compact Flash cards. You can also plug in your digital camera, video camera or video recorder and upload your captured image to a PC for transmission or direct video print. You can print images directly from any video source without the need for a PC.
