I totally agree with another reviewer here about not listening to critics reviews. Afterall, they told me Perfume, Story of a Murderer was good and it was one of the most dismal films I have ever seen. Derailed on the other hand, is not.

Charles Schine is a tired Ad executive, who's marriage is in a rut and their only child in desperate need of expensive medication. On his daily commute, Charles meets Lucinda and soon begins to consider having an affair with her. This leads to violence and blackmail.

I don't want to give anything more away, but I found the story line original and, at times, truely frightening. Jennifer Anniston is excellent, as is Clive Owen. The added plot twists only add to the film.

One of the best thrillers I have seen- well worth a watch.

This film was slated by the critics but I learnt long ago not to take a blind bit of notice of what the `experts' say about a movie because more often than not I disagree with their synopsis. Which is why I watched this movie with no preconceptions at all. I knew the part Jennifer Aniston was going to play would be a huge departure from the `girl-next-door' image and I was intrigued to see how she'd pull it off. My opinion: she pulled it off pretty darn well!

I really enjoyed this film and feel it's one of the better films of 2006 so far. I'd describe it as a thriller with a twist and would recommend it to fans of Jennifer Aniston purely so they can see her play a part far removed from what we're used to seeing her do. I was really impressed by her performance and think Clive Owen played the part of Charles to perfection. This was a fast paced movie which will give those who've thought of having an affair pause for thought as it shows why you should never cross some lines.....

I really enjoyed this film, I've seen hundreds of films and love thrillers, but I can honestly say that I've never seen a film quite like this before.

I guess this is a thriller that's also a psychological thriller with some really good twists and turns.

I do wonder sometimes if Clive Owen is truly a lead actor or not, but here he proves that he is in what could well be his best performances that I've seen of his to date, Jennifer Aniston is also in fine form in a role completely away from any other role I've seen her in, then there's the performance of Vincent Cassel who's superb as the villain, for me he's the best screen villain that I've seen for sometime.

It's difficult to say anything else about the film as it could give the game away, I try not to build up my hopes before watching films as you're always going to be disappointed from time to time at least, but this is an excellent film that I found riveting and it's rare for me to watch a film for the first time and find myself pulled in like this did, I'm very pleased to have added this to my collection.

I loved this film! jennifer Aniston was brillant and the film has a really good twist. I watched it 3 times on a plane and i cant wait to buy it and watch it again. This proves that jennifer Aniston is a serious actress and can do more than just comedy. I reccomend this film to anyone who likes thrillers and enjoys twists. Its my faviourite film of the year so far!

I have to say that I saw this film as soon as it was released, as there was so much hype from the end of 'Friends' and about how Jennifer Annistion could do 'serious' roles- and this film in no way dissapoints!

What starts as a chance encounter between two business people (Clive Owen, Sin City)(Jennifer Annistion, Friends) soon turns into a explosion of lies, passion, betrayal and murder.

This is definatley one of the best films of the year, and puts other thrillers to shame. Without letting on, if you like anything like 'Basic Instinct (1 or 2)' 'Fatal Attraction' or even 'Hitchcock Style Films' like 'Phsyco' then you will love Derailed.

And the film's twist is true to the tagline... 'You wont see it coming'

Derailed is Mikael HÃ¥fström's 9th movie, and is a very good one too. Charles (Clive Owen) is an ex-teacher, now working in stocks, and has a child who's in desperate need of medicines to stop her diabetes; Lucinda (Jennifer Aniston), is in the stock broker game too, but not everything is black and white.

They meet on a Chicago local train, as Charles has forgotten his money. Lucinda gives him $9, and his intrigue builds. He's obviously smitten with her, but he's no idea that it's not going to end well for him.

Not a bad movie altogether, Clive Owen's role is very well played, but Aniston just isn't convincing for me. Yes she does do a good job - but I feel that Clive's the stronger character. Vincent's role is predictable, they've always got him down for a bad guy for some strange reason, I'd like to see him in more roles, as he's a great actor.

The plot isn't bad too, but it's becoming a bit of a cliché of Hollywood cinema at this present time, I mean, how many films have a very similar background?

The DVD isn't as good as I expected, yes, the framing is great if you have a widescreen TV, but the extras are far from great. We get 4 deleted scenes and a making of, not really much. But when you think about it, how many extras do you really watch? Have to admit I only really use the commentaries when I really like a film.

Well worth renting, I don't see this having a lot of re-watching appeal.
