5.0 out of 5 stars Cool vocals and catchy rhythms with a jazz flavour, 5 Jun 2002
I only came across Taxi after hearing one of their tracks (Yes It's True) on the fabulous electro-jazz compilation, 'St Germain Des Pres Cafe'. I immediately fell in love with Jo Laundy's powerful and sharp vocals.

She has a voice not unlike that of Anastacia, but with the vocal range and occasional gentle tones of a classic jazz singer. The music itself seems to serve as a background to her singing, although the drum n bass influenced rhythms are incredibly catchy.

I highly recommend this CD to any jazz lovers, classical or modern, and to anyone who simply enjoys a great song. This hardly-known group deserves a lot more recognition.

I have just found out about taxi via friends of friends of friends and that St Germain albumn they have a track on. The vocals are great, Jo is a wonderful talent and the music is funky and jazzy. We want more Taxi....
