Amazon.co.uk Review
Ever had ambitions of leading your team to glory? Whether it's the league you desire or perhaps a major cup competition, UEFA Challenge can offer a decent stopgap while you practise your real ball skills elsewhere. The drill is familiar; you take control of a team, either in quick-start friendlies or through one of the various customisable competitions and aim to show the opposition what for. And it's decent fun too, perhaps not offering the most polished kick around on the console but certainly worthy of a few matches. Occasionally you'll wish they'd spent more time tightening up the gameplay rather than signing up the numerous celebrity endorsements (though these at least make for a lavish intro sequence) but once familiarised with the control system (and a practice option is built in to the game to help you out), there are enough options to keep you challenging for the title for quite a while.

There's little doubt that there are finer football games on the PSOne, and you should be seeking out the likes of FIFA or ISS Pro Evolution 2 before you think of giving UEFA Challenge a spin. But the football completist or the soccer star in need of a new challenge, could do worse than spend some hours in its company. --Simon Brew

3.0 out of 5 stars Good game bad game!, 13 Aug 2001
The name of this game & the cover straight away grab your attention. It's gameplay is good and quiet simple and there are so many tournaments & leagues. But the game has it's down sides you can't score without being so close to the goal and when I played with my friend she had a shot from the half way line and scored I tried and it went well over. The players haven't got there real names except for some teams and players who are endorsed while you can't savce your edited teams unless you play a competition. But overall it's an OK! game.
