Second Western release, under his own name, by prolific Japanese artist who also records as Child's View. Melodic ambient sounds combine with more folky, traditional sounding tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazingly series of carefully placed sounds, 14 Sep 2001
This album is amazing, throughout it, there is a sense of structure not only in a musical sense but also in a sculptural sense. Patterns, layers and overlaps are all placed with a precision although the actual sounds, at times seem to be recorded improvisations. There is a narritive suggested through the titles or the compositions as well, that makes the listening seem like you are eves dropping onto a natural or abstract process taking place on a scale that is either unfimilar or impossible.

Hoshi No Koe is a real slow burner, give it time and you continually be surprised and stimulated for a long time. Rumour has it that he is currently work on an album with Jim O'Rourke at the moment as well, which, going on boths recent form would suggest great, great things.
