my vinyl has all but fallen apart & time has long since reduced my bumper book of yeah yeah noh to dust. thankfully cherry red have done the decent think & cobbled most of the good bits onto cd. haha, magic!

for those of u that don't know, YYN were a 4 piece from leicester, peel faves & critics choice through the mid 80's art-rock movement which spawned creation recs etc, anti-style guru's & lyrical gymnasts of olympic standard. also partial to brown cake, the beatles & the fall.

if u buy one album this year - you've just found it!

I've spent several years scouring record shops and collectors magazines looking for Yeah Yeah Noh material, mine having been lost in the mists of time.Even the wonderful John Peel was unable to assist.

But now Cherry Red and Amazon have made an old man happy. Once more I can sing along to the wonderful Bias Binding. To the unconverted, Yeah Yeah Noh are wordy and melodic and if you want to buy one CD this year from someone you've never listened to (or possibly heard of) please make it this one and make these guys a little wealthy.

I had the Bumper Book of Yeah Yeah Noh and the "crying child" t-shirt (it still fits - makes me look like a WWF wrestler, but it fits) and collected all the e.p.s starting with "Cottage Industry" and then later picking up their LPs like "Cutting The Heavenly Lawns Of Greatness". I was, I think it is safe to say, a fan.

And its wonderful to hear the best bits here, would love to see the LPs issued separately but this will do for starters.
