5.0 out of 5 stars "The Cream Rises to the Top", 16 May 2001
In this superb bridging episode Jim Hacker finally gets to become top dog. He thinks that he will at last have real power. Naturally Humphrey has other ideas! The script is is so sharp and the acting beyond critism that the Yes Minister series signs off by reaching new peaks of classic comedy status. This episode is an essential purchase for any lover of British humour and a valuable study aide memoire to students of the weird world of politics and constitution. Never has the English language been so effectively used (or is it abused?) in pursuit of an intelligent and captivating comedy.
