Videologic Sirocco Spirit Speakers

The Sirocco range has long been lauded for bringing Hi-Fi build quality and sound to the PC. The Spirits have been added to the range to offer the discerning audio enthusiast top-quality sound output from a desktop-sized twin speaker system. No need for a separate amplifier, as this is integrated into one of the speakers, along with all the necessary controls.

The speakers themselves are black wood MDF cabinets with removable front grilles and have a main speaker, a tweeter and are ported to improve bass response. Size wise they are on the large size measuring 14cm (w) x27cm (h)x21cm (d). The amplifier is built into the right-hand cabinet and houses all the required connections.

For volume and bass control two large knobs are located rather awkwardly at the rear of the right speaker. A standard kettle plug provides power and two stereo phono inputs let you hook up your PC's sound output and CD output. The left speaker connects to the other using a supplied DIN socket and finally a subwoofer can be connected via an additional output.

In use the sound output from the Sirocco Spirits' speakers is unsurpassed by any other PC-based speakers. The bass response is about as good as possible from just two speakers, while the midrange and treble is still perfectly clear. The subwoofer output means if you do crave extra bass it can be added later on.

The price is high but the sound quality and power is second to none. If you're after the best sound output and bass, the power mad should crave the Sirocco Spirit.--Nick Baxter
