Unlike the previous comentator I don't buy banjo music for its comedy value. This album contains a good mix of different styles based around bluegrass picking for an excellent price. An interesting introduction with the essential Foggy Mountain Breakdown and Duelling Banjos but also someother asides into varying styles.

Next steps - try Flatt and Scruggs for pure picking genius, then Bela Fleck to see what the banjo can do. Comedy indeed!

I bought this album quite a while ago, I am not a great fan of the whole bluegrass theme but thought I would give it a try just to add to the variety in my CD collection. Upon getting the album I was hopeing for some fast-pased 'crazy' banjo action (very much like on the film 'Deliverance').
I was dissapointed, as only three of the twenty tracks had some humourus high speed banjo playing. Most of the tracks are very slow morbid affairs that contain far more fiddle playing than banjoing.
If you are like me and want to buy an album for generally comedy value then I an sure there are better banjo orintated albums out there.
