Product Description

Product Description

The vibrant world of Britannia, first explored in the Ultima games of the early 1980s, became an online adventuring ground for thousands with Ultima Online. UO displayed its world with the flat 2-D graphics of the old Ultima games. While this was fine at first, gamers began to complain once more advanced graphics technology became available. With Third Dawn, Electronic Arts responds to its loyal community with sharp new 3-D character graphics and more.

Third Dawn adds an additional landmass that presents even greater challenges and rewards for UO players. Third Dawn also adds new monsters to the UO landscape and for combat, players can try out new weapons and armour, some of which feature an Oriental/samurai look and feel.

Now Ultima Online is better than ever with improved graphics, music, and sound effects. Explore the beautiful world of Britannia and see and hear the difference.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!, 31 July 2001
By Hudine (Britain, Europa Shard) - See all my reviews
This is a great game. I'm hooked. Just don't play it if you pay for a phone bill cause you will play this game for hours and not even realise it.

I've been playing UO for 10 months and still not bord of it. I've seen 3rd dawn all the way though from the beta test of it. It still ha the od bug in the game and will sometimes crash if you are in a place wuth alot of action in it. So I'd sudjest for the first time buyer get the 2d cliant as well (Ultima Online:the second age).

But there is some cool new graphics in this game and the spell efacts are grate, and a whole new 3D wold. Yes you always are using the 3d graphics but you can only go to ishnur (the 3d realm) if you have the 3d dawn upgrade.

There is some cool new monsters and stuff in the 3d world, like Fairies, Unicorns and Kyrns.

For the tamer Unicorns and Kyns are ridable. Also have the added thing that only women can ride a Unicorn and only men a kyrn.

Also the tamer might like to know there is a Nightmare spawn in the 3d world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third Dawn - a nightmare, 3 May 2001

For those of you that are compulsive types stay well away from this. The whole game is well thought out and despite small problems when the hoards of people sign on to this world its a great game. I would definately recommend this to those of you that get lost in a game!

I would strongly recommend a cheap rate ISP and dont forget to have drink and food ready by the PC!

Its a good one don't miss out!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXELLENT GAME, 5 April 2001
By A Customer
This game is great. I really loved it. An entire new world to explore, the graphics are stunning and altogether i think it's a wonderfull game. The only bad things are the monster the dylex and the monthly fee. The monster Dylex does not move well and looks extremly fat (i think it's a bug). This is my best game.
