An excellant movie making any Hollywood 'star' be it Arnie or Jean Claude Van Damme looking rediculous. Directed by Corey Yuen who has helped Jet in the early 90's and beyond with directing and action choreography work.

Avoid any DVD in the 'Jet Li Collection' distrabuted by evil MiramAxe - They have cut and dubbed these films and this one as well which is originally known as 'My Father is a Hero'.

Shamefully, this dubbing and cutting applies to all films distrabuted by Miramax espcecially so I suggest you hunt down the original called 'My Father is a Hero'.

Jet Li at his best, some fantastic fight choreography and a story line that remains ALMOST credible ... not a movie to take seriously, but one to seriously enjoy!

A truly amazing film. The fighting is fantastic not only Jet Li but also Xie Miao (definitely a martial arts actor to watch for in the future). There was also an emotional story line, which brought tragedy and showed the love between a father and son and how strong that bond can be. A great Hong Kong film without the glitz of Hollywood!
Any Jet Li fans would love this film; in fact any martial art film lovers would enjoy this film, super fight scenes and a believable story line.
