Synopsis

Agents Scully and Mulder return to the scene of their first investigation and Mulder is abducted by a UFO, it is now up to Scully to save him...

From the Back Cover

REQUIEM - Agents Mulder and Scully return to the scene of their first case when a Navy jet crashes into an unidentified aircraft outside Bellefleur, Oregon. Although their investigation fails to turn up any evidence, when Alex Krycek reveals that Cigarette Smoking Man is seeking the same craft, Mulder and Skinner return to the crash site where both Mulder and the spacecraft disappear.

Anguished, Scully finds her search for Mulder hampered by Special Agent John Doggett, head of the FBI's search task force. But the Lone Gunemen obtain satellite maps showing unexplained activity in Arizona, where former abductee Gibson Praise lives. Convinced the aliens' next target is Gibson, Scully and Skinner race to the Arizona desert for one last chance to save Mulder, with Doggett one step behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great writing and great acting make this a MUST HAVE!, 15 Jun 2002
Let's get one thing very clear.....This is the turning point of The X-Files as a whole. The season in which Mulder was kept in the sidelines, and John Doggett was pushed as the new male lead agent.
The first part of the video is the final episode of season 7, and the last episode in a while with Mulder as a full-time cast member. It is a good one, and a real treat for long-time fans of the show as Agents Mulder and Scully come full circle, and end up in the exact location of their first ever investigation.
A trip down memory lane for sure.
Then the unthinkable happens, as Mulder vanishes....
The episodes that follow make obvious the change that has happened. The combination of sombre music and great acting by Gillian Anderson makes for some of the most emotional scenes ever seen in the series. You get to really see her distrust of John Doggett, but also her appreciation for watching her back.
The most interesting thing to watch in my opinion, is the anxiety of John Doggett. He is an ex U.S. marine and NYPD cop and is not prepared for what he finds in 'the search for Mulder'.
As this video is a three-part story, you really get your money's worth in buying this, and the writers really get to spread their wings and enjoy working with the new interplay between Doggett and Scully.
It makes for a refreshing change after 7 years of Mulder/Scully.
Skinner also has a bigger part to play in this story, and it's great to see a younger character return to the screen too.
If you're buying one X-Files video this year then make sure it's this one - it is a landmark not only in this series, but in TV as a whole, and might be remembered as the bravest attempt ever at prolonging a TV series' life.
It's a real shame that it didn't work long term, as the new characters that resulted were excellent to watch and every bit as interesting as Mulder and Scully.

5.0 out of 5 stars "How far can too far go?", 14 Jun 2001
By A Customer
"MULDER!!!" He's gone. He may have been long gone for haters of the series, and at the time of writing he's gone for good, but now he's gone. And in one of the most idiosyncratic pieces of television I have ever seen, the truth is finally found...and it has never cost so much. Stunning is one word, superlative-defying is two. Can you handle the truth? So sure, its been spoilt by over-eager journalists, but the actual moment is incredible. Thank Mark Snow for a brilliant musical score. Chris Carter should be proud. The truth is still out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Requiem for an Era, 21 Jan 2001
By Ms. Rebecca Hancox "Becky" (Pontefract, West Yorkshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The title "Requiem" is more poignent than any other so far on The X-Files. Be warned, The X-Files may never be the same again after the first episode of this trio. With the departure of David Duchovny for the vast majority od season 8, and the uncertain future of him in the show past that, all X-Philes will cherish maybe the last time we see Mulder and Scully together in that now truly classic and unforgetable way. This may not be the best X-File ever but the overriding sense that this is our last taste of the true X-Files in all its glory will ensure this is a classic and will remain in our hearts forever.

Not everything dies ... X-Files forever
