Amazon.co.uk Review

In Little Nicky, Adam Sandler plays the sweetest of three sons of Satan (Harvey Keitel), who's got to go to Earth and retrieve his nasty, power-hungry brothers lest they take over Hell and make it a thoroughly evil place. As with Sandler's other films, this weird premise (based oh-so-loosely on King Lear) is just an excuse to trot out a hodgepodge of comic bits and cameo performances. Admittedly, a lot of the jokes don't work (there was no need to repeat the one about shoving a pineapple up Hitler's ass) but the ones that do tend to be more memorable than the ones that don't, making for a pretty funny movie, when all is said and done. Sure, it's hard to overcome Sandler's speech impediment du jour, not to mention that romantic subplot with Patricia Arquette but it can be done by focusing on the brilliant cameos by Regis Philbin, Reese Witherspoon, Ozzy Osborne, and Henry Winkler (especially when he's covered with bees), as well as one of the funniest uses of a scene from De Palma's Scarface in years. Supporting Sandler throughout are two very funny heavy metal disciples and a bulldog named Beefy (voiced by Robert Smigel, the man behind Triumph the Insult Comic Dog). And, in an almost unrecognisable cameo, that's Clint Howard as the cross-dressing fetishist named "Nipples".--Andy Spletzer, Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilariously Funny, 11 Aug 2002
Little Nicky is the son of Beezlebub (aka the Devil) sent to Planet Earth to retrieve his evil brothers Adrian and Cassius, who have escaped from Hell and are, er, hell-bent on ruling the world.
Actually this film is more of a comedy, with the likes of Hitler getting a pineapple shoved up his butt, a bald goon growing boobs on his head (and ends up having to wear a bra on his head)and who could ever forget that annoying talking dog, not to mention Satan falling apart?
I have given this film five stars, but to be honest, I've given it 100000000 stars. It is just that good. If you want to have your side hurting with laughter, buy this. I promise you will enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well I loved it., 13 Mar 2006
By A Customer
This film certainly isn't for everyone-but if like me you have a very unusual and (dare I say it?) slightly warped sense of humour it is a very good film. Yes, some of the jokes get old but I have watched this film time and time again without getting bored of it.
There are some very memorable moments-like that 'scarface' moment or even when he sleeps. (people who have seen the film know what I mean!) And there are some very funny characters, like Sandler himself and the pair of rockers who worship him.
Rhys Ifans is particularly good as Adrian.
For anyone with a slightly off-the-wall sense of humour or a taste in the rarer breeds of film, this movie will be a sure fire hit.
However, if you prefer more traditional genres, look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sandler Hits Another Home Run!!!!!!!, 14 April 2001
By A Customer
If you have loved Adam Sandlers other movies(Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore) you are bound to love Little Nicky. This is, with no doubt my favorite of Adam Sandler's movies. Although Happy Gilmore is not that far behind. How can the movie not be great with Adam as the devil's son? I first thought his slowed speech was going to be a problem for me, but after I heard him speak in his enviornment (hell) it just made me laugh even more. He plays the dumb loser son of the devil whose brothers dislike him and will do anything to rule Hell over the next 10,000 years. Meanwhile Satan is dying because his two sons have left and Nicky tries to stop his two brothers from wreking havoc in N.Y.C. There are many jokes that younger viewers might not understand, but all are funny even if you have to have people explain them to you. I persnally have seen it three times and it just gets better and better. All of the characters, (especially Kevin Nealan; the guy with the boobs on his head) make the movie funny and enjoyable. Any fan of Adam or anyone who used to watch the old SNL shows will see a lot of familiar faces that just make the movie even more enjoyable and entertaining. This is Adam at his best!!!
