5.0 out of 5 stars Armageddon it, 17 April 2009

Now superceded by the DVD box set release of the entire Key to Time season, this is still a great story and the climax to the wonderfully eclectic series from 1978. Tom Baker and Mary Tamm (Romana) have really started to gel as a team, and there are wonderful turns from John Woodvine as the meglomaniacal Marshall and Davyd Harries as his unintentionally comedic adjutant, Shapp. Some fans have criticised this story for being overlong and it is one of the last of the six-part stories made for TV. However, I thought there was plenty going on and the presence of a lively K9 in one of his better performances was a definite bonus. If you can get hold of the DVD box set I would urge you to do so; unless you'd rather watch on VHS in which case this is perfectly adequate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Key to Time, 15 Jan 2003
The Doctor, Romana and K9 come together in this adventure to complete the segments that make up the Key to Time.
The Atrian's are at war with the planet Zeos and with an estranged marshall in charge of the situation ; things could'nt get any more ugly.
A powerful, evil force is controlling the command centre via a darkened mirror and things are soon to get out of hand, which calls for an intervention by the Doctor to sort it all out once and for all.
The doctor (Tom Baker),feels a Gallifreyan hunch that Princess Astria of Atrios may be linked to the sixth segment.
He also comes to the realisation that everytihg is being controlled by a super computer intlligece called Mentalis , which launches an Armageddon program to try and destroy everything.
Amongst this commotion and war gone mad, another being hangs in the midst of time, the Shadow. The doctors own trusted companions may be used like pawns as the shadow is the servant of the infamous Black Guardian. (See Enlightenent,Mawdryn Undead,Terminus- 5th Doctor).
This serial raked in 8.5m viewers in its release on TV in 1979.The first epidsode was actually the 500th to be shown.
Mary Tamm who plays Romana also had her final stint in this series.Douglas Adams also worked on this story, although he was not credited until the next season.
Overall, this is a must for every Dr Who fan and rounds the Key To Time storyline off to a tee.

5.0 out of 5 stars KEY TO TIME, 23 Jan 2003
By A Customer
8/10. This is the final part of the key to time series of Dr Who feat Tom Baker as the fourth incarnation.
There is a complex story which is excellent and some wicked monsters thanks to the BBC special effects dept of 1979.lol.
Douglas Adams wrote the zany script and it is also the 500th episode.

The Doctor must remain calm as all around him starts to go haywire, even his companions are drawn against him- as the dark mirror hides a sinister being- the Black Guardian.
(See also Enlightenment,Maydryn Undead,Terminus 5th Doctor- Peter Davison.
