This album is absolutely brilliant!

From the opening track onwards, you realise Marumari makes truly brilliant music in a style that is pretty hard to place into any specific genre you have heard before. The drums he uses tend to be live drum samples as opposed to electronic drum sounds so often used by other IDM artists. He also throws a lot of audio samples in to the tracks as well as soft analogue synth type sounds. He does not use his samples in an organised repetitive loop sort of way, but rather in a very abstract and experimental manner. The end result is truly fantastic. It is odd, there seems to be little attention to the individual editing of the different elements that make up each track. In other words little imperfections and rough edits seem to remain in the mix. However, the way these quite random layers fit together creates an amazing overall effect. The overall result is far less clinical and precise sounding than other IDM, and has a much looser feel to it; almost like it is being played by a live band.

I cannot recommend this album enough! It is worth buying for the first track alone. Fans of Boards of Canada, DJ Shadow, Warp, Planet Mu, I strongly recommend you check this guy out if you have not heard of him before.

This is up there with the best music I have ever heard! I whole-heartedly advise you to check it out!
