5.0 out of 5 stars a rare gem, 18 Nov 2006
I bought this cd after watching a Ronnie Lane story on tv,always having liked the Small Faces and The Faces.I thought i,d try it out and much to my delight i was spell bound.I can,t stop playi ng it ,the songs are very moving ,catchy jigs,a real mixture of genius.Shame the the man never got the recognition he deserved, well i,m very impressed and will be buying up all his other albums too, this is music up along side the very best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant surprise, 22 May 2007

I decided to buy this CD after listening to my Small Faces CD "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" and decided to look into Ronnie Lane's career. The reviews below did the rest and right now I'm sitting here writing a review while listening to this wonderful CD. His voice reminds me a bit of George Harrison, but that's probably just me.
Ronnie's music might have sounded out of place in the early seventies when glam rock was the latest craze but now it holds up on its' own and his music is of a timeless quality and I am convinced that it will be even more appreciated in future years, like good wine.
I like this CD so much that I ordered me a copy of Ronnie's Slim Chance CD as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Take me back, 5 Aug 2006

This CD is excellent. Plonk would have been chuffed with the production, the presentation and the performances - each track stands up 20 or more years after they were put down. The bloke had a nack for putting a melody down and adding enough hooks to hold a Great White in a rip tide. It's been my retro summer album. I would recommend it to anyone who can tell when a band of good musicians are having a good time and can kick back and enjoy it too.
