The perfect Disney memorabilia!, 29 Mar 2003
I can't praise this album enough. It is perfect. People who grew up with Disney want all the songs and enjoy all the songs. But you always forget one or two songs. And then maybe the case is that you don't want to buy a whole Disney album just for one song. This is why this is the perfect Disney album! It has gathered up about 100 of Disney's greatest hits. I have always been a Disney fan and so I love and know every song in this album. It has everything from the billboard #1 single "A whole new world" (Aladdin) to the greatest hits from one of the world's best-selling albums of all, US #1 "Lion King". The album producers have collected all the Oscar-winning Disney hits too! The songs from the highest grossing animated feature (Lion King) and the highest grossing animated feature of all time (Jungle Book) are timeless. Then there's beauty and the beast. A beautiful Broadway hit too, it was nominated for best picture at the Oscars because of the beautiful songs. And that year Beauty and the beast had 3-4 nominated 'best songs' at the Oscars and the Golden Globes. Away from the beautiful love songs and Julie Andrew's beautiful songs from "Mary Poppins" are the tracks that no one will ever forget. I am talking about songs like "Hakuna Matata", "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", and "The Bare Necessities". And then the album also has songs that are heard everywhere in the Disney theme parks like the "Electrical light parade theme" and the breath-taking music from "Fantasmic"! You can even see Disney's creativity through the ages from their original ideas for songs like the China Town-like feeling in "We are Siamese", a silly yet very catchy single. And there's also the set of songs for "The Little mermaid", the feature that was the first Disney hit in the late 80s-early 90s era which was followed by other timeless Oscar-winning musicals like (in order) "Beauty and the beast", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", "Pocahontas" etc. The only two other albums I had to buy were "Mulan" and "Hercules". The album does have one song from "Hercules" but I also love the other funny-themed songs in the feature, mainly sung by the Muses! And then I don't even have to explain why I want the Mulan soundtrack. It has beautiful songs and a marvellous score! The album is complete with all the hits so don't worry. Whether it's Lady and the tramp you're looking for or Bambi, it has it (it only does have songs from Mulan-onwards in other words Mulan, Tarzan, Emperor's new groove, and Monsters Inc.) I highly recommend this album. I was planning on getting all the Disney hits by buying "Disney's Greatest Vol. 1" and then 2,3,4 etc. but that would cost over double the price. You get this and you get 100 of the best songs. And so this is the perfect album!
