When I purchased this CD, I was expecting it to be all Goth music, but I was pleasantly surprised at the various tones of music that this CD has to offer. Juicy offerings from groups such as Godhead, Taproot and Powerman 5000 makes the listener honestly believe that this is the music that the modern day Dracula would have thrived on. Being a resident vampire fan, it was only natural that I made this CD one of my all time favourites, (which is very rare that that happens). The quality of the tracks is almost sensational, however some songs such as "Opus Relinque" will cause a bit of boredom. However, that is only my opinion out of all of those who had the opportunity to lend both ears to this rocking soundtrack of the equally rocking film from Wes Craven. Another feature that I MUST point out is the really cool design on the cover of the CD and the inside pictures that create the mood that many of the tracks attempt to convey *which is mostly successful. * All in all, I certainly recommend this CD to those who want a loud, proud and waking-up-the-neighbours material type of CD, or else those who loved the movie and just HAVE to get their hands on the soundtrack. However, if you don't believe me, purchase it yourself and make up your own mind.

Following the recent trend for soundtracks to be more metal oriented this OST takes it to it's natural conclusion. However, it manages to do so by putting out tracks by excellent artists such as Pantera, Slayer and very cool new blood like Taproot, Linkin Park, Disturbed and Endo. The majority of the tracks are unreleased at this time and, with the exception of the last three tracks, you'd be hard pushed to find a duffer. I rate this up there with the first Crow OST - that's how good this is.

This CD is probably my all time favourite. Most of the tracks here are loud as hell, and the quality of the recordings is blinding. Crank up the treble and hear those cymbals! I dont think they should have put the linkin park song on, as it doesn't really follow the theme, with most tracks lyrics describing the characteristics of vampires behaviour. As i understand, a few of these tracks are also unreleased. Be proud to have this grace your collection.
