The premise of this film is pretty simple. The american authorities need to go back to vietnam to recover or destroy a secret arsnel that they left in the the vietnemise jungles after the war. They do not send in american troops instead they get the chinese army leaders to create a crack squad of chinese prisoners to go and do this. After the mission is cancelled, they are stuck in the vietnam jungle with only one thing to do, complete the misson and risk not getting extracted when it is over. So they go and join the cambodian rebels, led by Angela Mao. They go and try to find the underground base. They soon pick up Yuen Biao's character, who is a trader on the blaak market and gets the people of the towns almost anything they want. Now the troupe is complete, they go on and find the base. I will not spoil the suprises that are along the way, but i will just say it has an explosive ending. The fight scenes all through the film are first class, as you would expect from a Sammo Hung film. The stunts are also very good, especially where Sammo jumps off a high cliff onto the back of a army truck. The fights are very brutal, which i found different from many Sammo films (watch out for when Sammo gets out his machete...) as it is quite bloody in places. All in all, a very good film that many people will enjoy. If you are not particulary into Hong Kong films, then this could be a good starting point, although this may be a bit on the more violent side for some people.
