Stronger: Britney Spears: Amazon.co.uk: Music

American Teen Songstress Britney Spears returns with a hot, pumped up follow-up single to the hit "Lucky" - "Stronger." And indeed, Britney IS Stronger on this latest release. Probably her strongest release to date, and with an excellent R&B B-Side "Walk on By," her voice stands out on both tracks wonderfully. Taken from the album "Oops!... I Did It Again" (which, coincidentally also features between 12-16 funky pop/R&B tracks!) it's no surprise that Britney is stronger than her first album, and this track proves it. If Britney continues making classic pop songs like this, Christina, Mandy, Billie and Jessica may as well go home!

Britney’s’ seventh single ‘Stronger’ is in all probability her paramount, and if not then tremendously close. Released in December 2000 and reaching #7 in the UK charts, ‘Stronger’ was the third single to be let loose from her second album ‘Oops, I did it again’, which also spawned the single ‘Don’t let me the last to know’ and the #1 hit song of the same name ‘Oops I did it again’. A totally massive bass drives this one home, with a trademark Britney at the foundation; the synthesisers are there again in their fullest capability. A duel-layer Britney voice is present again, some digitally altered and some not, but the end result is still a very whole package with additional vocals from Nana Hedin and Max Martin. Admittedly in some places the harmony appears to be missing, but do not fear for when the music’s gone, Britney’s voice is not and when it does materialise again it’s customarily back with a punch. Track 2, ‘Walk on by’, no not the famous Burt Bacharach & Hal David classic originally sung by the harmonic Dionne Warwick, but instead is a slow, romantic number with a real girly sound (Can I say that?). The lyrics are that of regular collaborator Jorgen Elofsson with David Kreuger, that are a bit more of a coming-of-age tune with an ample tune to match. Last on the list is ‘Stronger’ – WIP Remix – that is an overlong interpretation of the Album Version mixed up by Work In Progress. ‘Stronger’ is about Britney when she lost her boyfriend and eventually all her self-respect, but over time has been able to come to terms with her loss and loneliness and has found peace with herself. A specific part of the chorus sums up the entire songs’ pitch when she screams “Stronger than yesterday, now it’s nothing but my way”. It’s a real shame to say that the ultra-sexy music video is not present showing off the perfectly toned Britney dancing around with a magical chair that turns into a cane, which is all topped off with the heartbroken Miss. Spears driving dangerously down a long and deserted highway at night. Quite possibly the best of all Britney’s singles that has everything, if just for Track 1.

Its sad that people have been giving such poor reviews for the Stronger cd single because it is one of Britney's best!!! Stronger is the original album version and you've all heard it before, its typical Britney but with a positive message!! 9/10 Walk on by is lovely, one of my fave Britney songs, it is a bit like Sometimes and a really cheerful tune. You need to listen to it a few times to get into though 10/10 The Stronger remix is actually good!! Everybody says how awful it is but if you wait for the song to get started its got a great beat and very catchy!! 8/10 So i would say if you are a Britney fan this is a MUST have, and the picture on the front is great, so thats always a bonus!!
