Amazon.co.uk Review
After a barely playable first outing for Game Boy Color,
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 will satisfy fans of the console versions much more than the original. Almost every aspect of the game has been improved, from a new camera angle to easier controls and better graphics.
For those looking for an exact copy of the PlayStation version, keep looking. Tony Hawk 2 for GBC is 2-D, with pseudo 3-D levels added in for variety. Unlike the first GBC game, THPS 2 includes level objectives, like collecting the letters S, K, A, T, and E, as well as grinding a set number of objects per level. This adds tremendous replay value for mobile gamers.
Our only gripe was with the control on the "3-D" levels. Precise movements are almost impossible, causing a bit of frustration, but we can live with it, simply because players won't find much better for their portable system. --Robb Guido
