This is truly a great flight simulator and has to be played to be believed. In JetFighter IV, gamers can select from some of the best fighter jets that the American aerial arsenal has to offer, such as the F-14 Tomcat, the F-22 Raptor and the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
This is truly a great flight simulator and has to be played to be believed. In JetFighter IV, gamers can select from some of the best fighter jets that the American aerial arsenal has to offer, such as the F-14 Tomcat, the F-22 Raptor and the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
After adequate installation, there are missions to be undertaken that are primarily based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The quality and size of the available flying space is fantastic. A huge area of territory from the Pacific Ocean to the Nevada desert has been mapped to photographic precision for use in the game.
JetFighter IV's combat comprises dogfighting and air-to-ground missions. Completing a mission is a challenging task because targets on the ground, as well as other jets, will attempt to take the gamer down. Each object the gamer attacks and attempts to destroy--including skyscrapers and even the Bay Bridge--will indicate battle damage such as smoke or fire. It doesn't matter if the gamer succeeds or not--this is an excellent game. Recommended. --Paul Munford

The US Navy's official F-14 Tomcat LANTIRN trainer uses technology developed for JetFighter 4, a game that offers combat simulation at a high level. During 30 missions, players will defend San Francisco from attack by piloting the F-14 TomCat, F-22 Raptor and F/A-18 Hornet. Deliver payloads including AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles, GBU 24 2000 lb Laser Guided Bombs and the electrically driven M61-A1Vulcan Cannon against air, land and sea forces. Downtown San Francisco and the surrounding 50,000 square miles have been recreated in high detail. Multiplayer action includes deathmatch and co-op missions, with up to 16 pilots on a LAN or over the Internet.
